Well, I know it's been quite awhile, but 2011 has brought some exciting changes. Lets see... first, I've been working with the lovely Thais Helena of House 09 on my blog design, and I think it will be ready soon! It's so much more "me" than this very limited free blogger theme that has zero style to it (my fault - I don't know how to install something better). I can't wait to show it off, but until it's final, I'll keep it under wraps. Hint: It's inspired by my fabulous new bag, which I've nicknamed Pippa...because she's sassy. Is that odd? :)
Also, since Thais is setting it all up for me (thankfully! I was very unsuccessful at modifying the themes myself), I'm officially moving my blogging platform from Blogger.com over to Wordpress.org. When it's ready, I will post the link. I'm hoping to figure out how to move my old posts over there as well. If anyone has experience in this, feel free to let me know. Fortunately, I don't have that many to move, but I do want to have that history.
By the way, if you aren't familiar with Thais and the Seattle-based, sister-team of House 09, definitely check them out. I just read their bios recently, and for the life of me, I don't know how I missed this earlier, but they were born and raised in Brazil! Having been born and raised in Connecticut, and I'm still here (?!), a life in Brazil sounds absolutely glorious!
I also took the Blogging Your Way course this past month run by Holly at decor8 and Leslie at A Creative Mint. The time really flew by, and of course, I was bombarded at work out of nowhere making it very difficult to participate fully in the class with all my late nights. I'm going over all of the notes though and working through the exercises - the material is excellent. I can't recommend the class enough! The two of them do so much to help you bring out your creative side and figure out your focus to build a better blog with better content.
And so my final new and exciting change for the day...DRUMROLL, PLEASE!!!
We're having a baby! I'm finally out of the first trimester so I'm not keeping it a secret any longer. I can still barely believe it, but we're so excited. Right now, I'm trying to make sure I know everything I need to know about pregnancy and all that - there's just SO much! But we'll need to start planning for when we actually have the baby. (Is it too late to renovate the whole house???) We're due October 8th so we have quite awhile still, but I'm sure it'll fly by. I mean, honestly, I can't believe it's already April!
Alrighty, I guess that's enough for one post! Hope the new year has been treating you as well as it has been treating me!
